about me

Hi my name is Janice and I just wanted to tell you a bit about myself and how I got into making jewellery.

“I have always had an artistic streak in me... starting to draw, and paint with watercolours when I was 12 years of age.

After my children were born I did some tutoring sessions in craft and design for greetings cards at my local craft shop.  It was a couple of years later, whilst a consultant in a major cosmetics and jewellery company that I became interested in the idea of making my own jewellery.

Researching into the subject for 6 months I became 'hooked' - there was no stopping me,  and Pendant Moon was started in May 2007.

All my jewellery pieces were individual and made with no particular person in mind - I just 'go with the flow' and see where it takes me.  Being the mother of two young children, and knowing the cost of things these days, I want to be affordable to the everyday person.

Most of my supplies came from America, so my costs were lower than if buying from the UK.  I also have a good source of silver and my bead and stone suppliers changed their stocks regularly, so I was always sure of obtaining an excellent choice of stones - many that I never knew existed!

I love the beads and gemstones - in the way some women love chocolate!  I keep them, like sweets, in jars and enjoy handling the different textures, polished surfaces and colours.  After a stressful day this can be very calming and soothing.

My policy was to ensure that 95% of my jewellery would be unique.  I may have used similar stones, shapes and colours etc., but always tried to vary the designs and make them a little different from each other, which I hoped separated me from many other jewellers out there.

I want to make something special for that perfect occasion..........Or just because we need no reason at all but just want to feel a bit special and treat ourselves every so often!."

In July 2009 I launched "girls jewellery making parties, which I hope this website will give you all the information you need to know about these new and exciting parties.
