Minerals and gems have been given many attributes throughout the ages. Different traditions ascribe different traits to them - this is a general list of stones and their common associations.

African Opal Gemstone Beads - This stone is known to the industry as African opal, but no one can really say exactly what makes it up. Amazonite - Amazonite, also known as Amazon Stone, ranges in color from blue-green to green. It is occasionally mistaken for chrysophrase or turquoise. Deposits of amazonite can be found in Madagascar, Kenya, Namibia, India, Russia, Brazil, and The United States (Colorado).

Amazonite Black Tourmaline - These amazonite / black tourmaline beads are gorgeous! Amazonite, with its blue-green beauty is a very popular semi-precious gemstones , and then, recently, along came this beauty -- the amazonite I just love with streaks of black tourmaline and the occasional fleck of sparkly pyrite.

Aquamarine (syn.) - Synthetic Aquamarine is glass that has been heat treated, producing this lovely transparent aqua color. This "gemstone" is mainly created in China.

Black Onyx - Onyx itself is a layered stone with black as the base and a white upper layer. Onyx is also sometimes used when referring to unicolored chalcedony - black onyx.

Black Rustic Quartz - In parts, these are crystal clear quartz. In other parts, they are a translucent, cloudy white quartz. In yet other parts, black rustic quartz contains chunky brown or black inclusions that make it somewhat similar in appearance to tourmalinated quartz.

Blue Lace Agate - Blue Lace Agate is a type of chalcedony formed by bands or layers of quartz in blue and white. This type of Agate is thought to be a de-stressor. Most agate today is found in Sri Lanka, Brazil, Africa, Mexico, and The United States (Maine, Utah, and Colorado).

Jade - Jade - wisdom, mercy, humility, generosity, peace, and harmony. Protective and lucky when worn as jewelry. Place a bit under your pillow at night for restorative dreams.

Jasper - calms a troubled mind. Helps with digestive problems and other ills.

Labradorite - strengthens the will and inner strength and convictions. Aids in combatting addictions.

Botswana Agate - Botswana Agate is a type of chalcedony banded in gray, brown, and white. The only known source for this unusual agate is Botswana, Africa.

Carnelian - Carnelian possesses an all orange-red coloring that is enhanced by heat-treating. It is widely believed that carnelian is derived from the Latin "carne" (flesh). Carnelian is part of the chalcedony species, closely related to agate.

Carnelian (nat.) - Natural carnelian ranges in color from white to orange to dark brown. When held up to the light stripes with a cloudy distribution of color are visible. This stone is very similar to natural agate.

Chalcedony - Chalcendony is not only a type of gemstone, but also the name gemologists use for all cryptocrystalline quartzes. Chalcedony in its natural state is waxy or dull, with little or no banding.

Citrine - Citrine belongs to the quartz family.   Deposits of naturally colored stones are mainly found in Brazil, Madagascar, and the United States.

Fancy Jasper Gemstone - Fancy Jasper refers to a multi-colored jasper, which is mostly opaque and varies in color from dark green to burgundy to gold. This is a very durable gemstone, said to aid in general healing.

Garnet - balances your natural energy. A highly protective stone. Increases confidence and security.

Goldstone - uplifting, reduces tension and stomach problems.

Green Moss Agate Gemstone - Green Moss Agate is colorless with green horneblende inclusions in moss-like patterns. The largest deposits are found in India, with other deposits in China, Russia, and the United States (Colorado). Moss agate occurs as a filler in fissures or as pebbles.

Hessonite Gemstone - Hessonite is also called "cinnamon stone" and "Kaneel stone." Hessonite is the brown-red variety of grossular garnet. Deposits are found in Sri Lanka, Brazil, India, Canada, Madagascar, Tanzania, and the United States. Hessonite strands have a wonderful gradiation of color that reminds us of cinnamon and dripping caramel, delicious!

Hematite - great stone for grounding. Calms and soothes, reducing stress and blood pressure.

Howlite - Howlite - reduces stress and anxiety. Quietly soothes and calms to bring gentleness and patience.

Imperial Jasper Gemstone - Imperial jasper is one of the finest jaspers on the market today. It exhibits gorgeous patterns in soft shades of pink, blue, green, yellow, and brown. Imperial jasper is only mined in Guadalajara, Mexico.
